Physiocochemical characterization of a ouabain isomer isolated from bovine hypothalamus

In a study, a ouabain isomer that inhibits sodium positive/potassium positive-ATPase in humans was isolated from bovine hypothalamus. The structural differences between this ouabain isomer, called HIF, and ouabain, a plant product, are discussed.
