Summary:Objective To study the clinicopathological characteristics associated with recurrence of abdominal fibromatosis.Methods The clinicopathological data of 88 patients who were surgically treated for abdominal fibromatosis from 1993 to 2009 in the Department of General Surgery of the General Hospital of PLA were retrospectively analyzed,including gender,age,abdominal surgery history,tumor location,tumor diameter and extent of surgical excision,and the data were then analyzed by univariate analysis and multivariate analysis.Results Of 88 patients undergone surgical treatment for abdominal fibromatosis,recurrence occurred in 35 cases,and the recurrence rate was 39.8%.It was found by univariate analysis that the gender,abdominal surgery history,tumor location,tumor size and extent of surgical excision were correlated with the rate of recurrence of abdominal fibromatosis.Multivariate analysis revealed that tumor diameter significantly and independently related to abdominal fibromatosis recurrence after surgery.Conclu
