Summary: | Prosocial behavior is behavior that is done voluntarily for the benefit of others whether they revert to our advantage (Redondo, Rueda and Amado, 2013). In this sense, these behaviors are vital because they allow us to strengthen from early ages behavior such as solidarity, tolerance, cooperation and assistance, in addition to preventing violent, xenophobic or aggressive behavior, among others. Therefore, considering the importance of prosocial behaviors in social relations, we must understand this construct defining the concept of what it means to be prosocial. This chapter would include a theoretical review, highlighting different studies investigating some aspects present in prosocial behavior. In addition, some research related to this type of behavior and the prevalence according to different variables shown. |
