In other words, the goal of teacher professional development should be to increase teachers' awareness of the potential for learning rather than to present them with a prepackaged set of new pedagogical strategies. [...]we hope that the student teachers can make use of the exemplary cases: * as a source of models of practice to apply and test in their own classroom; * as examples of practice that can be compared to their own practice; and particularly, * as a set of ideas to be debated upon and to act as a springboard to reflection on their existing practice.
