Summary:Studies of Brazilian urban network have advanced to a variety of fields and, without doubt, one of which stands today, is one that deals with the role played by so-called medium-sized cities. Even because, the analysis of this category of urban center became compulsory, as are decisive in the current process of devolution of the Brazilian economy, placing itself as important alternative investments as well as spaces able to receive and retain immigrants. In view of this, one of the central goals of this article is to evaluate if the municipalities are average urban centers that attract investment and labor for yourself and the municipalities of its network of influence, or whether they are concentrating investment and population.
