Summary:Methods: Using epidemiological data gathered through a combination of literature searches (prevalence rates) and proprietary primary research (IPF diagnosis, treatment initiation and persistence rates), the proportion of patients moving between each stage of the patient journey (presentation of symptoms, diagnosis, treatment initiation, and treatment persistence) for both IPF and NSCLC was simulated. Factors with the highest impact on treatment persistence in IPF included suboptimal management of adverse events and lack of patient education on the benefits of treatment.
