A71 ONCOGENES AND ANGIOGENESIS IN LUNG TUMORS: Function Of Kras In Regulating Differentiation Of Normal Human Airway Basal Cells Into A Mucociliated Epithelium
Overexpresssion of WT KRAS had no effect on expression of secretory and ciliated genes, but with overexpression of active KRAS, mRNA levels of differentiated secretory genes were markedly increased (secretory genes MUC5AC, MUC5B, TFF3, SCGB1A1, all p<0.05), as well as was expression of ciliated g...

Summary: | Overexpresssion of WT KRAS had no effect on expression of secretory and ciliated genes, but with overexpression of active KRAS, mRNA levels of differentiated secretory genes were markedly increased (secretory genes MUC5AC, MUC5B, TFF3, SCGB1A1, all p<0.05), as well as was expression of ciliated genes (FOXJ1, DNAL1, both p<0.05), with concomitant suppression of squamous cells-related genes (KRT6B, involucrin, both p<0.05). Conclusions: The levels of KRAS gene expression play a critical role in normal human airway basal cell differentiation. |
