The question of register (formal/informal) will also come up in this lesson, as well as making the difference between fact and opinion. Since our students had been previously exposed to ways of expressing affective meaning through collocations we expected them to be able to actually fulfil two tasks at the same time: use the appropriate idioms in the context of negotiations and also express their feelings and opinions towards the subjects under discussion.
