Summary: | Urinary incontinence (UI) ia an issue of modern woman society, a problem of public health, which determine a reduction in the quality of life, meaning sufferences in social, physical, psychologic, occupational and sexual life. This paperwork aims to determine the efficiency of a Kegel exercise program in pelvic floor rehabilitation, in the treatment of mixt urinary incontinence. This case study was conducted on one subject with mixt urinary incontinence, age 40, 54 kg, 167 cm. For assessment were used: Over Active Bladder, miction test, coughing test, PERFECT test, modified Oxford test, International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire (ICIQ-SF) and King's Health Questionnaire. For rehabilitation, a 19 weeks Kegel exercise program was used. Pretest results revealed that the subject has involuntary urine leakage on daily basis during cough, sneeze and during imperious urinary needing and a poor quality of life. Posttest results revealed that the subject is able to stop the urine during miction, and she loses a small amount of urine during cough, sneeze or laugh. She has a strong perineal muscle contraction and her quality of life has improved. A 19 week Kegel exercise program is efficient in the rehabilitation of mixt urinary incontinence. |
