Summary: | In this article the authors offer a brief panorama of the Brazilian indigenous languages spoken at Mato Grosso do Sul state, based on the estimative presented by UNESCO (2010) about the level of vitality of world languages threatened of extinction, as well as in Rodrigues (1993b), Braggio (2001, 2002) and Martins and Chamorro (2015, to appear). After a brief historical contextualization of public policies adopted in Brazil, benefiting one single language - Brazilian Portuguese - (cf. Soares, 2002), they shall focus on the main actions concerning the Licenciatura Intercultural Indigena - Teko Arandu seeking for a linguistic policy, which would valorize the maintenance and strengthening of the use of Guarani e Kaiowa from Mato Grosso do Sul, in this specific and differentiated course created in 2006 to reach exclusively the demands during the formation exclusively attain the formation of teacher of this two ethnic groups, according to Martins & Knapp (2015). |
