Summary:Organizations of March and Simon (1958) is one of the most important references in organizational studies. The work is a milestone for presenting concepts and theories that today permeate the scientific research in the area. In this paper I present an overview of the seven chapters that make up the original work. Later I make a discussion of these elements, seeking to identify possible gaps for studies in decision making. For this, I review some seminal research that were influenced or discussed the impacts of the work for the development of this field of study. A major contribution of this paper is to synthesize in a few pages some of the concepts and theories that shaped the investigations of the organizational field. The results provide also some important clues about the possible advances of scientific research that relate to decision-making.
