Summary: | It was an honour to be invited to say a few words at the end of the wonderful CPHVA 2015 Awards ceremony held on March 27. As a VP it provided the author with an opportunity to congratulate all those in the audience who had been nominated for an award. She collaborated with a social worker to set up the group and for the first eight months it met on a weekly basis in the clinic. When the numbers regularly reached 20 to 30 it moved to larger premises in a local youth and community centre, courtesy of the Education Department. The successful outcome of the group in reducing feelings of isolation among the mothers was the reason for submitting the article for publication. |
