Summary:Automation is fundamentally transforming the travel experience and nowhere is this more evident than at international borders. Over the past decade, ePassports, biometric readers, and secure document scanners have allowed veteran travelers to self process through border control via eGates and Automated Passport Control (APC) Kiosks at an increasing number of airports, seaports, and land borders across the globe. The installation of Automated Border Control (ABC) systems at a number of European airports constitutes an integral part of this effort.
