Summary:This paper studies current trend in document management systems as new paradigms of organizational management. Special emphasis is placed on the impact of information, document and knowledge management in the new scenarios of Cuban business given the current process of updating the economic model. The importance of working on projects between universities and business is also emphasized. This paper exposes some results from the diagnostic of the following subsystems: information, documentation and knowledge. This analysis was applied to teaching units belonging to the Business Group under Improvement. Suggestions and good practices were providing to organizations for feedback organizations in the use of methodologies and tools based on open access that allows support companies in the implementation of the resolutions and decrees law in force in the country. Problems that affect management subsystem information and documentation are key elements that dynamic factors in business success were identified.
