Summary:The microwave dielectric properties of Nd^sub 2^MoO^sub 6^ ceramics were investigated with a view to their application in mobile communication. The Nd^sub 2^MoO^sub 6^ ceramics were prepared by the conventional solid-state method with various sintering temperatures and sintering times. A maximum density of 6.05 g/cm^sup 3^ was obtained for Nd^sub 2^MoO^sub 6^ ceramic, sintered at 1,350 °C for 4 h. Dielectric constants ( ^sub r^) of 10.9-15.4 and quality factor (Q × f) of 7,300-19,200 GHz were obtained at sintering temperatures in the range 1,200-1,400 °C for 4 h. Dielectric constants ( ^sub r^) of 14.6-15.4 and quality factor (Q × f) of 11,100-19,200 GHz were obtained for sintering times in the range 2-6 h at a sintering temperature of 1,350 °C. A dielectric constants ( ^sub r^) of 15.4, a quality factor (Q × f) of 19,200 GHz, and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τ ^sub f^) of -59 ppm/°C were obtained when Nd^sub 2^MoO^sub 6^ ceramics were sintered at 1,350 °C for 4 h.
