Summary: | In particular, the following data were collected: the level of pupil dilatation, presence or absence of intraoperative features of IFIS and any intraoperative complications. A recent series from Edinburgh, United Kingdom has reported a similar picture, with 4% of their 1,786 patients taking -1 antagonists, mostly doxazosin.2 The prevalence of tamsulosin intake in several series from the United Kingdom2-4 has all been lower than that described in the original series by Chang and Campbell (3%).5 We suspect this may be attributable to the difference in the prescribing practice of general practitioners and urologists between the two populations and may well reflect a difference between the two continents. |
