Summary:The present work constitutes another approach to search methodological alternatives, which support the teaching of methodological-conceptual skills, considered essential for education, mainly at university level. Santoyo (2001), interested in this problem, proposes "Analysis strategy and text evaluation", which promotes the development of complex abilities, such as evaluation, analysis and proposal of alternative routes of action to proposals carried out by others. Research was effectuated by a pretest-posttest design with psychology students of first semester. Initially the group was evaluated; later, it was trained concerning the strategy through five sessions. At the end of the intervention, posttest was applied. Results indicate significant differences between pretest and posttest phases. During training sessions, the performance of the group increased gradually, although individual differences attributable to their repertoire were noticed. On the other hand, differences between categories were observed, maybe because of texts' characteristics or of methodological knowledge participants had.
