Summary:The paper shows a quantitative approximation to the work reported in the journal Adicciones, published by the Spanish Scientific Society of Studies on Alcohol, Alcoholism and other Addictions (Socidrogalcohol), between 1996 and 2000. 385 reports were printed, with 7395 bibliographic references, in 23 issues, three of which were supplements. The Universities contributed most of the papers, 38.1%, and only 10.7% of the reports were written by Specific Drug Centres. 65.8% of the papers were signed by more than one author; alcohol and opiates being the dominant theme. Finally, it should be said that the intervention of the authors, measured by the index of the halflife of the literature, is 6.4 years which confirms its nature as a specialised journal.
