Summary:Oxygen assisted laser cutting ensures quality cuts with high productivity. Classical experimental series and factorial design experiment are applied for cutting steel plate 3mm thick. The results of the laser cutting process can be quickly evaluated by analyzing the width of cut. Mathematical models with regression functions show parameters physical and technological effects. In the experiments were varied power, cutting speed, pulsing frequency, pulse time and oxygen pressure. The cut width was measured at the top and bottom of the workpiece. Particular effect of oxygen pressure variation is evaluated for several test series. It presents the opportunity to optimize the laser cutting process by increasing cutting speed.
