Summary:Land market and sociaL property: a current discussion Abstract: It is impossible to cover the complexity of the land market under a single perspective for aspects of it are always different and depend on factors such as geographic location of each village to study, the culture of the rural inhabitants and the policies on land applied by the government; however, in an attempt to contribute to the understanding of this phenomenon, this analysis includes some ideas developed so far around the concepts of land market and social property to give rise to new approaches and proposals through discussion with the authors. The mechanisms by which peasants access to land ownership and situations that justify the rural people deciding transfer the land or grant its use via the usufruct to members of the same town or outsiders are some of the issues related to land tenure and communal ejido type addressed in this work.
