Summary:The purpose of this present article is to identify how modern technology, especially digital equipment but also some concepts present in the modern battlespace at the beginning of XXI Century, such as Network Centric Operations, Effect Based Approach to Operations and Evidence Based Operations are influencing military leadership in combat. The author's based his present work on the Romanian Armed Forces Transformation postulate that "re-dimensioning the decision making process, based on information superiority and the implementation of effect based operations concept, using network enabled capabilities is considered the key transformational element, communication systems playing here a decisive role". He analyzed the available information and personal experiences at the unclassified level to try to identify trends and ways to correct the negative influence that I believe technology has on sound leadership in the battlespace of XXI Century. In this article, the author concluded that, modern military leaders have to be highly trained in scientific domains and versatile in thinking in order to lead effectively and successfully.
