Summary:A suitable condition for the determination of nickel in ammonical solutiaon by automatically controlled potential deposition onto a nickel or copper plated platinum cathode has been established. The effects of such variables as the concentration of ammonium salt and ammonia, temperature, cathode potential and electrode material have been investigated by the polarographic method. In this method, the nickel containing below 150 mg of zinc in 300 ml sample solution has been determined quantitatively by use of an electrolyte composed of 1 M NH4OH, 0.1 M (NH4)2SO4 and 0.1 M Na2SO3 at 8090°C with nickel or copper gauze cathode at-0.95 V vs. S. C. E.
