Summary:The gender inequity in the IT field has been addressed with different approaches such as outreach programs for middle-school or high-school female students and gender-inclusive instructional methods to retain female students in the IT-related disciplines. However, efforts to promote future female IAS workforce have rarely been conducted although the gender inequity in the IAS field is even starker than it is in the general IT area. In this paper, we will discuss problems with existing approaches for IAS education and propose a holistic IAS educational strategy which not only addresses those problems but also may be effective in bringing up a female workforce for the IAS field.
