Summary:The author comments on a grant received from the Viola da Gamba Society of America (VdGSA) to attend the Pacific Northwest Viol Workshop as an intern. The workshop ran from July 8, 2012, to July 14, 2012, and had 35 students. The biggest hurdle for students seemed to be moving so rapidly from classes in one style of music to another. Larry Lipnik's class introduced fascinating ideas that evoked the methods used by Renaissance painters to achieve perspective in their works.
