Summary:Exceeding the traditional dividing line between internal and external security, the article aims to analyze the coordination link between EU internal and external spheres in combating the "new security threats" and in achieving its security goals. First, I will analyze the rapprochement steps towards the EU security continuum, the instruments and the logic behind the process. Second, I will step beyond the discursive claims and I will analyze the EU operational aspects directed under this umbrella, with a particular focus on organised crime. Last but not least, I will discuss the reflection of EU security continuum on the wider global security arena. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
