Measurements of positron and electron total and elastic scattering by atoms

Reent measurements of positron and electron total scattering by alkali metal atoms (sodium and potassium) and differential elastic scattering by the inert gases are discussed. These measurements are helping to provide information on how positron and electron total scattering cross section (Q{sub t}...

Summary:Reent measurements of positron and electron total scattering by alkali metal atoms (sodium and potassium) and differential elastic scattering by the inert gases are discussed. These measurements are helping to provide information on how positron and electron total scattering cross section (Q{sub t} 's) by a given atomic target may be the same, while the separate scattering channels contributing to Q{sub t} may still be quite different for positrons and electrons.
