Summary:Seismic methods and their improvements in terms of accuracy have been advanced rapidly in the last decade. At the same time it is decisive, how fast the seismic data are measured, processed and interpreted in order to deliver on time information about the tunneling conditions to be expected during the tunnel work. Technologically, all pre-conditions are fulfilled and one would think that seismic exploration during tunneling is working to complete satisfaction. In general, we can agree to. Still, there are upcoming problems raised by the engineers on-site from time to time. This paper addresses those aspects and bridges between all participating parties in order to create a common mindset among them.
