다문화가정 어머니와 발달지원자 설문을 통해 본 아동의 언어환경 및 언어발달 실태

이 연구는 국제결혼 다문화가정 아동의 어머니들과 발달지원체계종사자(발달지원자)들을 대상으로 설문조사방법을 이용하여 아동의 언어환경 및 언어수준을 살피고, 언어발달 지원을 위한 언어병리학적 시사점을 찾아보고자 하였다. 아동들은 대체로 애정적이며 통합의 문화적응을 보이는 어머니와 한국어로 의사소통하는 언어환경에 있는 것으로 보인다. 어머니와 발달지원자들의 아동발달문제에 대한 지각은 세 언어발달기(영유아기, 학령전기, 학령기)에 따라 다르게 나타나지 않았다. 어머니의 문화적응은 언어발달과 유의한 상관이 없었고, 양육태도는 학령전기에만 유의한 상관을 나타내었다. 어머니는 무응답율이 높았고, 어머니의 기대와는 달리 지원자의 언어발달선별설문결과 언어발달면에서 고위험군 비율이 34%로 다소 높게 나타났는데, 이는 언어치료사가 보다 적극적으로 언어발달 지원에 개입할 필요성을 시사한다. 설문을 통한 실태조사연구로 언어선별설문의 중요성을 확인하였으나 보다 구체적인 언어발달 지원 가이드라인 마련을 위한 후속연구가 필요하다. This study surveyed multicultural mothers' and developmental supporters' views on multicultural children's language environment and language ability. In general, mothers seemed to be integrated into Korean culture with a positive parenting attitude and high expectation of their children using the Korean language. Both mothers' and supporters' responses to the child's communicative difficulties seemed be to the same regardless of language developmental period. There was no significant correlation between mothers' acculturation and children's language development. For children in the developing language period, there was significant correlation between mothers' positive parental attitude and children's language development. Given that one third of the children were screened as at risk in language development, and half of the mothers seemed not to respond to their children's language ability, speech language pathologists (SLP) need to be involved more actively in screening multicultural children's language ability. Furthermore, SLPs need to be careful in consulting mothers and identifying truly language impaired children from multicultural backgrounds. KCI Citation Count: 55
