글로벌·다문화 시대에 적합한 정체성 교육의 내용영역 구안 및 교과교육과의 연계방안 탐색

지금까지의 정체성 교육이 정체성의 배타적 성격을 강조해 왔다면, 국가간․인종간․문화간의 경계가 모호해지고 있는 현대 사회는 정체성이나 정체성 교육에 대한 새로운 접근을 요청하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 글로벌․다문화 시대에 적합한 정체성 교육의 기본방향과 내용영역을 구안하고, 이를 교과교육과 연계하기 위한 방안을 탐색하고 있다. 이를 위하여 문헌분석과 전문가협의회를 통하여 3개의 대영역, 7개의 중영역, 20개의 내용요소로 구성된 정체성 교육의 내용 체계를 구안하였으며, 이들 영역과 국민공통기본교과와의 연관성을 확인하기 위하여 전국의 초․중등교사 2,234명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 국어, 도덕, 사회가 개인적․지역적․국가적․글로벌 정체성의 개발과 밀접한 것으로 나타났으며, 실과는 개인적 정체성의 개발과 연관성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 음악이나 미술, 영어 역시 글로벌․다문화 시대에 적합한 학습자들의 정체성을 개발하는 데 중요한 역할을 할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 향후 글로벌․다문화 시대에 적합한 정체성 교육의 방향과 내용을 구체화하고 이를 교과교육과 연계하기 위한 추후 과제를 제안하고 있다. The contemporary society requires a new approach to identity development education, as national, cultural and racial boundaries becoming more and more blurry. Based on document analysis and forums with experts, this study proposes a framework for identity development education which consists of three broad areas, seven categories and twenty content areas. To investigate the relationship of this model to the subject areas teaching, this study makes use of survey data from 2, 234 elementary and secondary teachers in Korea. Major findings show that Korean, social studies and civic education are the primary subjects involved in developing students personalㆍnationalㆍglobal identity. It also turns out that practical sciences can contribute to developing students' personal identity with its emphasis on career development. In addition, music, arts and English education can also contribute to developing students' multicultural and global identities. KCI Citation Count: 2
