LDA 토픽 모델링을 통한 문해력에 대한 담론 연구: 뉴스 데이터를 중심으로

코로나-19 팬데믹 이후 국내 뉴스 기사에 나타난 ‘문해력’이란 주제어 및 토픽과 관련한 사회적 담론을 분석하고 이를 교육적 시각에서 해석하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 2020년 1월 1일부터 2023년 11월 18일까지 빅카인즈 플랫폼을 활용하여 국내 54개 언론사의 뉴스 기사 데이터를 수집한 후, R 프로그램의 한글 텍스트 분석을 하기 위해 KoNLP, NIADic 패키지를 활용해 데이터를 전처리한 후 LDA 토픽 모델링 방법으로 텍스트 마이닝을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, ‘디지털 기술, 디지털 리터러시, 플랫폼, 데이터’(Topic 2)가 핵심적인 주제로 도출되었으며, ‘넷플릭스, 유튜브, 소셜 미디어(SNS), 콘텐츠’(Topic 1, 5)을 통해 디지털 자원의 활용의 중요성과 더불어 ‘교과서, EBS, 초등학교, 고등학교’(Topic 3, 5)을 통해 교육적 접근이 중요한 논점으로 부각되었다. 팬데믹 이후 디지털 환경의 급속한 확산은 복합양식 텍스트 읽기의 중요성을 증대시켰으며, 이를 통해 학습자의 문해력 향상과 비판적 사고력 계발이 필수적인 과제로 대두되었다. 본 연구는 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로, 디지털 교과서와 에듀테크를 활용한 맞춤형 학습 환경의 설계, 복합양식 텍스트 읽기 전략의 체계적 개발 및 적용의 중요성, 그리고 매체 교육의 강화를 통해 학습자의 디지털 문해력 역량을 제고할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다. 디지털 시대 청소년들에게 익숙한 복합양식 텍스트를 비판적으로 읽어내고 전략적으로 활용할 수 있도록 지원하고, 교과 문해력을 함양할 수 있도록 교육적 비계를 모색해야할 것이다. This study aims to analyze the societal discourse surrounding the keyword ‘literacy’ and related topics in domestic news articles following the COVID-19 pandemic, interpreting the findings from an educational perspective. Utilizing the Big Kinds platform, we collected news article data from 54 domestic media outlets spanning from January 1, 2020, to November 18, 2023. The collected data was preprocessed using the KoNLP and NIADic packages in R to conduct a Korean text analysis, followed by text mining using the LDA topic modeling method. The analysis identified “digital technology, digital literacy, platforms, and data”(Topic 2) as the central theme. Additionally, the significance of leveraging digital resources was underscored through topics such as “Netflix, YouTube, social media(SNS), and content” (Topics 1 & 5), while the necessity of educational approaches was highlighted through topics including “textbooks, EBS, elementary school, and high school”(Topics 3 & 5). The rapid expansion of the digital environment post-pandemic has heightened the importance of multimodal text reading, emphasizing the essential role of literacy enhancement and the development of critical thinking skills among learners. Based on these findings, this study proposes strategies to strengthen digital literacy by designing personalized learning environments through digital textbooks and EdTech, systematically developing and applying multimodal text reading strategies, and reinforcing media education. It is imperative to support adolescents in critically analyzing and strategically utilizing multimodal texts that are familiar to them in the digital age while also fostering their Disciplinary Literacy, through well-structured educational scaffolding.
