Summary:Kim, Young-Sun. 2007. A Zero-Relative and Intonational Phrase Boundary. Korean Journal of English Language and Linguistics 7-4, 587-611. The purpose of this study is to show that the zero relative and the null complementizer introducing a clausal complement of a verb belong to the same category C, that both should be treated as a clitic, and that they are subject to cliticization. This paper is an attempt to explain the distribution of a null C in relative clauses with the PF approach, assuming that a zero relative is a kind of a null clitic and that it is licensed only when it is adjacent to the preceding host without an intonational phrase boundary intervening between.
