Summary:Photoelectric spectrophotometry of the Can K emission line in the flare star BY Dra during 1975 shows no evidence for variability over the 3ḍ8 rotation period. Apparently the K-line emission is produced uniformly over the stellar surface, and is not localized in plage regions. Concurrent variations in (B— V) and (b— y) confirm that the color changes seen over the photometric cycle are a continuum effect, rather than a result of varying emission line flux.
