Summary:The coastal location of Magoúla Pavlína raised various questions about the interconnection of the site with the wider Aegean, and its function within the Soúrpi plain. The large quantity of Grey Minyan ware, which seems to have been locally made, implies direct or indirect connections with the southern mainland. Such connections may also apply to other settlements located close to the coast of Thessalía. A few fragments of imported Decorated ware may be present, but overall few indications of far-reaching and/or intensive trade contacts are seen. However, we should keep in mind that we are dealing with a biased assemblage.
