Summary: | Tell el-Qudeirat (map ref. 0949/0064; 385 m asl), identified with biblical Kadesh Barnea, is situated in an oasis in the eastern part of the northern Sinai desert, southeast of the Egyptian village of Quseima, about 35 km west of the town of Miẓpe Ramon in Israel (Fig. 1.1). The region is bordered on the east by the Negev Highlands. On the west, Wadi el-Qudeirat, in which the site is located, drains into the drainage basin of Wadi el-‘Arish.
