Summary:The role and importance of Kosovo women in developing general business and societies should be one of the main priority of Kosovo society, where gender equality is an immediate necessity today. Therefore, equality between genders should be part of every strategy to make business and society sustainable in the economic aspect of the future. The education of women in the past constituted about half of economic growth in OECD state in last 50 years, and this obligates more commitment to help women to achieve higher levels of education and to practice gender equality in education. It's evident that in states where gender equality is at lower level, economic development is slow, and it faces mores obstacles in poverty alleviation than the state where gender equality is at a better level. In registration agency business (MTI), 2014 9121 businesses were registered, of which 7383 owners were male, 1471 owners were female, and 267 were not registered in the base of gender. On the basis of these data, women appear not to be doing well in terms of the employment rate in Kosovo. The overall rate of unemployment is 30.9%. From this cipher, it results that 40% of unemployed are women, 28.1% are male, while the unemployment rate among young people aged 15-24 years is 55.3%. Report of 2013 shows that 21.1% women in Kosovo are part of the labor market, while just 13% of them are owners of SMEs. This is among the lowest rates of unemployment in the region. Cooperation for advancing it will open new opportunities for women and contribute to them working in the business sector. Gender equality is the cornerstone in the process of democratic development of a nation. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account all the gender inequalities that characterize the family, the community, the labor market, and the society in general. 1
