Summary:Unusual problems need unusual solutions. In this sense, mitigating the current global sustainability problems requires sailing into surrealistic creativity as a source of inspiration in invading the intact interdisciplinary fields of research in service of the sustainable style of living as well as the sustainable built environment. In this chapter, the current limitations and drawbacks of the built environment are discussed; the insufficiency of the current style of living and architecture to fulfill human needs of food and energy production Is highlighted. Solutions that are focused on developing self-sufficient, productive home/farm, and edible building materials for temporal sheltering are proposed, including the methodology of implementing these systems and materials, their production technology in the digital age advances, and their reciprocal interrelation with the essential aspects of 270the design process loop, especially, economy, reproducibility, and sustainability.
