The chapter provides a detailed analysis of agro-climatic conditions of the Ural Federal districts well as agrochemical properties of soils in this region. It shows that region has great potential for the development of agricultural production: scientifically based application of fertilizers could dramatically increase the productivity regional agriculture. Although the subjects of the Ural district differ in climatic and economic conditions of agricultural production, but in general they are characterized by the presence of potentially fertile soils, such as chernozem and gray forest. Analysis of natural and anthropogenic resources of the Ural Federal district shows that the region has significant opportunities for further development of agriculture and agricultural production. In the negative situation with the provision of arable soils of the Ural region with available phosphorus for plants necessitates the need to adjust agriculture toward a more balanced use of chemicals, including, first of all, phosphorization of soils and other ways to increase the provision of crops with phosphorus nutrition. |
