Medium Voltage Diode Rectifier Design for High Step-Up DC-DC Converter

A medium voltage rectifier, relying on series connection of SiC Schottky diodes, is designed and tested within a unidirectional isolated DC-DC converter. The design is realized considering efficiency, static and dynamic balancing and failure mode considerations. The model of the rectifier circuit is...

Summary:A medium voltage rectifier, relying on series connection of SiC Schottky diodes, is designed and tested within a unidirectional isolated DC-DC converter. The design is realized considering efficiency, static and dynamic balancing and failure mode considerations. The model of the rectifier circuit is improved compared to the previous literature enabling to precisely represent the voltage oscillations due to switching, facilitating the design of the snubbers. Experimental results are presented to validate the design. The developed model results show good fit with the measurements.
