Summary:The aim of this paper is describe the tests for parameter determination of permanent magnet synchronous machine and sliding mode observer (SMO) implementation. The observer has the objective of estimating the back-emf force based on the machine model, which is applied to a Phase Locked Loop (PLL) for rotor position calculation, performing the control orientation. For the development of the SMO and its experimental validation, it is necessary the knowledge of the parameters of the machine, thus, also will be demonstrated the steps to perform tests in order to obtain them.
