Summary:This paper investigates the influence of mobile battery energy storage system (MBESS) on distribution over-current protection coordination and selectivity. For this, the influence of MBESS in short-circuit currents is also analysed. The evaluations are performed through time-domain simulations in PSCAD TM /EMTDC TM for a typical distribution network with alocation of the MBESS in some points of this system. The simulation results show that the fault currents increase moderately. However, the system contribution decreases implying in a desensitization of overcurrent protection for some cases.
