Summary: | In this paper, we present the fibre design and experimental verification of guiding light in two different polarization-maintained, large Aeff, high-order modes (HOMs) (LP 0,4 and LP 0,8 ). The cross-sectional are (A eff ) of the studied HOMs approaches 2240 μm 2 , and the HOMs propagate over 1 m long length of fibre (length of practical HOM amplifiers) with >13 dB polarization-extinction-ratio (PER). The HOMs exhibit group-birefringence values exceeding 10 -4 . |
