Summary: | The loop types such as the three- and four-legged loaded unit cells, the circular loops, and the square loops and the hexagonal loops are widely used to design the frequency selective surface (FSS) for a number of applications. Correlation analysis and evaluation of them are investigated in previous works. In this work, we try to use another loop, namely triangular loop, for designing the FSS. A multi layer FSS, which comprises three layers of periodic triangular loop and two layers of substrate with a dielectric constant of 2.2, for X band application is designed and discussed. Consideration is given to the unit cell dimensions and spacing and substrate thickness for plane wave incident angles, and parameter is studied for the width of all triangular loops. The operating mechanism of the FSS is explained with equivalent circuit (EC) model. |
