Advanced optical interconnection technologies based on silicon photonics for future DCs

We developed a chip-scale optical transceiver, "optical I/O core", which is 5× 5 mm 2 , has a maximum capacity of 300 Gbps, and consumes a low amount of power, 5 mW/Gbps. A 25-Gbps/ch error-free transmission using our optical I/O cores with a wide-bandwidth LSI was observed.
