Summary:The design of a bank of observers for switch fault diagnosis on the Rotor Side Converter (RSC) of generation systems based on Wound Rotor Induction Machines (WRIM) is presented in this work. These observers are designed using a geometrical approach. dq reference frame WRIM model is presented. A RSC with a fault is developed using an additive structure. From geometrical approach, a coordinate transformation is proposed to generate uncoupled residual signals used to detect and isolate different kind of faults on the RSC. Finally, simulation results are included to validate the proposed strategy.
