Summary:Robust H ∞ control problem of a fan system is studied. It is pointed out that this control problem of the fan system is really a optimization problem of robust performance, the control problem with both robust stability and performance requirements(bandwidth and other performances optimization). It is also suggested that the design of the robust performance of the fan system can be formulated as a robust H ∞ control problem, if the uncertainty weighting function and the performance weighting function to the fan system bandwidth and disturbance attenuation are revised appropriately. The robust H ∞ PI controllers of the fan system are solved. Compared with the design method of the LMI - PID in the literature citing them, the results show that the proposed method is more efficient and feasible to the fan system.
