Over 40,000 km path across a layered network by recirculation through an experimental WDM ring network

Using a 4-channel, 2.5 Gbit/s per channel, 2-fibre survivable WDM ring network connecting three fully-engineered optical add/drop multiplexers, a 40320-km path through a layered network is experimentally simulated by recirculation of a 140 Mbit/s data frame.
