Summary:We investigate a volume digital holographic microscopy (VDHM) on numerical simulation, in terms of the calculation time for volume reconstruction and the amount of memory required during the calculation. The resolution power of volume reconstruction needs to be increased in order to obtain a large numerical aperture; hence we need to use a large hologram. However, this increases the calculation time and the amount of required memory. In order to decrease the calculation time and the amount of the required memory, we divide the large hologram into sub-holograms. We perform volume reconstructions from each sub-hologram and then superimpose all volume reconstructions onto one volume reconstruction.
