Summary: | The switched reluctance motor drive system (SRD) is usually fed by diodes rectifier in high power application. The diodes rectifier will bring some disadvantages such as current harmonics to grid. A new switched reluctance motor drive system fed by voltage PWM rectifier is presented in this paper, and the circuit structure is given. The operating principle of the system is explained in detail. After modeling the new SRD system and analyzing the control schemes, some simulations are performed under several conditions. The results show that high power factor, low harmonics to grid, and regenerative braking are easily obtained in the new system. At last the performances in the proposed system are verified through the experiment tests on a sample 12/8 SRD system controlled based on digital signals processor. |
