Summary: | In the paper we propose and analyze an alternative approach to evaluation of cross correlation function in Noise Radar enabling drastically enhance dynamic range of wideband noise radar with digital signal processing. The approach is based upon digital generation of both sounding and reference signals using fast enough Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) with the required delay and coherent analog reception of the radar returns. Both signals may be up converted to the required carrier frequency. Cross-correlation between the reference and radar returns is to be realized at the carrier frequency using analog mixer and low pass filter. In the paper we describe the new approach and compare it with the conventional one. |
