The Paper concentrates on one illustrative example of a module, from a suite currently under development by the CALGroup consortium of which the University of Reading is a member. The paper describes the development process from conception of needs, planning, authoring, testing through to implementation into the teaching syllabus and testing its effectiveness. The paper concludes with a discussion of the relative merits of CAL and authoring systems such as Authorware Professional.< >
